Seattle work moves in stages. Plan the one you are in.
Let us be straightforward about geography first: Priority Electric is a Bonney Lake service-area business, and Seattle is the far edge of its range, not its backyard. The city has no shortage of electricians. What we bring to a Seattle project is the same thing we bring everywhere: a stage-aware scope and a written record, and for some projects, especially ones already coordinating with our work elsewhere in King County, that is exactly the fit.
If that sounds like your project, Request an Estimate with the address and the stage the work has reached, or call (206) 718-3047 to talk it through honestly, including whether we are the right choice.
Guidance: the City's inspection stages
Cover. Service. Final. Seattle says most electrical permits require those three inspections, with feeder inspections when applicable, and the names give a project its natural sequence: cover while wiring is still accessible before walls close, service around the service equipment itself, final when the completed installation is ready for review, feeder when a subpanel or distribution feeder joins the job. An estimate request that says which stage you are in, whether walls are open, and whether a service change or subpanel is in the plan is already halfway to a scope.
Guidance: same day describes a permit type, not a schedule
Seattle distinguishes permits that move without review from projects that require plan review: some no-review permits can be issued and printed the same day, while plan-reviewed projects are not issued the same day. Same day is a City option for a category of permit, never a promise about design, installation, or inspections. The City's permit page also says an electrical permit is needed when wiring is installed, altered, extended, or connected to electrical equipment, including signs, and notes that service changes or new services may require Seattle City Light coordination, so one project can hold three related but distinct conversations: the electrical scope, the City permit, and the utility.
Two of three Seattle homes share a building
The 2026 estimate gives Seattle 433,871 housing units, 67% in buildings of two or more units, and the total is up 17.8% from 2020. For the intake, that means the building question comes first: detached home, condominium, apartment building, ADU, common space, or commercial setting. For shared structures, name who manages access, whether a common electrical room is involved, and whether the change affects a unit or the building system. For an ADU or house project, the stage and the equipment list carry the conversation; the planning pages are additions and ADUs and remodel electrical.
What the written scope does at this distance
Every Seattle job we take gets the same treatment: a written scope with its own number for the work discussed, and a phone call before anything outside it is added. If part of the work is already complete, say so plainly; if design choices remain open, list them as open. That discipline matters more, not less, when your electrician is not around the corner.
No stage applies to an emergency
Equipment that is smoking, sparking, hot, or associated with a shock: get people away and call 911 for immediate danger. Do not wait for any inspection stage or keep using the equipment. A block-wide outage belongs with the utility. For the slower problems, flickering, a dead circuit, a planned panel change, troubleshooting and panel planning are the doors in.
The honest next step
Send the address, building type, construction stage, any subpanel or feeder detail, and the result you want through Request an Estimate, or call (206) 718-3047. If the fit is wrong for the distance, we will say so on the first call.

Common questions
Can Seattle issue some electrical permits the same day?
The City says some no-review permits may be issued and printed the same day. Projects requiring plan review are not issued the same day.
What inspections does Seattle list for most electrical permits?
Seattle lists cover, service, and final inspections for most permits. A feeder inspection applies when applicable.
When might a feeder inspection be relevant?
The City identifies feeder inspections when applicable. Include subpanel or feeder details in the project request and check the current City requirements.
Why does Seattle building type matter?
The project can involve a house, ADU, condominium, apartment, or common area. Access, ownership, and equipment context can differ among those settings.
What is the right response to an active electrical hazard?
Call 911 for immediate fire or shock danger. For an outage affecting the wider area, contact the utility. Do not use an online request for emergency response.

Denis at Priority Electric LLC delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. We hired him to completely replace all the lighting in our kitchen, including updating the old fixtures and replacing all the recessed can lighting in the ceiling. What truly set Denis apart was his customer-focused approach. Before committing to the full ceiling job, he offered to install a complimentary can light as a test run. This allowed us to see the final look and brightness, which was incredibly helpful in making our final decision. The quality of the work was impeccable and fully met our expectations, and we found his pricing to be very fair for the scope of the project.
