Priority Electric LLC — Powering what matters

Duvall electrical work that starts with your site

Where your property sits in Duvall can matter as much as the equipment you want installed on it. Exterior work and additions raise site questions a city name alone cannot answer, including what borders the lot and how new wiring will reach the spot you have in mind. So we plan from the address outward, and the questions get asked before the drawings harden.

If you already know some site facts, even rough ones, they belong at the front of the conversation. Request an Estimate and describe the property along with the project, or call (206) 718-3047 and start with what you know.

The wildland-urban question is settled by address

Duvall publishes Wildland-Urban Interface guidance and explains that the WUI Code applies in areas where development meets undeveloped land and vegetative fuels. That is guidance to verify, not proof that your property is in a WUI area, and its real value is the warning it carries: do not guess from vegetation, a neighboring parcel, or a general map label. Until the appropriate local process confirms the address, we describe the proposal as exterior work under consideration, not work in a designated hazard area.

The code backdrop is published too: the City states that the 2021 Washington State Building Codes, including the 2021 International Residential Code and 2021 International Building Code, have been in effect since March 15, 2024. Treat that as context for the project, not a substitute for a code review, a parcel determination, or a universal requirement for every electrical task.

Two schedules, one project

Duvall says all inspections must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, with a 3 p.m. cutoff, through a Viewpoint Cloud account. Build that lead time into the construction plan early, while trades and access are being lined up, rather than expecting a later scheduling request to create a promise. It is City inspection timing, not a guaranteed appointment, and it says nothing about electrical inspections.

The electrical side runs on its own track. Duvall is not listed as a city jurisdiction on Washington L&I's municipal electrical page, so L&I is the electrical route to verify for work here. Keep the City building review and the L&I path on separate lines of the plan, especially when exterior equipment is being coordinated with an addition or remodel.

Putting the exterior work into words

An exterior electrical decision can look small on paper and still depend on the construction around it. Tell us whether the route passes through an existing wall, a new addition, a garage, or a landscape area, and name the intended equipment location, not just the equipment category. For a generator or service component, record what it is meant to serve and whether a building plan already exists. Drawings, a site plan, or product cut sheets help when they exist, and their absence is not a blocker.

Growth shows in the numbers: OFM reports Duvall housing units rising from 2,778 in 2020 to 3,198 in 2026, with the 2026 count including 187 mobile homes or special units. Those figures are planning context, not evidence of any home's age, electrical condition, or equipment capacity. Whether yours is an addition concept, an exterior circuit need, or a manufactured-home question, the first step is still identifying the structure and the work being considered.

Priority Electric is a Bonney Lake-based service-area electrician serving Pierce, King and Snohomish Counties. Include the address, whether the work is exterior or part of an addition, and the equipment details you know. We discuss the job, give a written scope and number, and call before adding work outside the agreed scope.

Danger first, planning second

If you see flames, smoke, or active sparking, leave the immediate area and call 911. For a possible outage, communicate with the serving utility. Do not open equipment, reset it repeatedly, or test an exterior condition that could expose you to danger.

Send the site facts and we go from there

You do not have to resolve the WUI question, the code edition, or the permit authority before reaching out; bringing order to those is part of the work you are buying. Share the address and the project through Request an Estimate, or call (206) 718-3047.

FAQs

Common questions

Does Duvall’s WUI guidance mean my property is in a WUI area?

No. The City describes WUI guidance generally, but that page does not establish a parcel-level designation. Confirm applicability for the actual address before making a project decision.

How much notice does Duvall request for inspections?

The City says inspections must be scheduled at least 24 hours ahead, with a 3 p.m. cutoff. Recheck the current City process before relying on a date.

Who handles electrical permits in Duvall?

Duvall is not on L&I’s municipal electrical-jurisdiction list, so L&I is the electrical route to verify for the job. A City building process may still be relevant when the project changes the structure.

What details matter for a generator or exterior service question?

Describe the equipment, intended location, structure served, existing service information, and any addition or exterior construction involved. The address helps keep WUI and permit questions property-specific.

Do city housing figures tell me whether my wiring needs replacement?

No. OFM’s counts do not describe individual wiring condition, age, or capacity. A specific project conversation should be based on the actual property and equipment.

Denis at Priority Electric LLC delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. We hired him to completely replace all the lighting in our kitchen, including updating the old fixtures and replacing all the recessed can lighting in the ceiling. What truly set Denis apart was his customer-focused approach. Before committing to the full ceiling job, he offered to install a complimentary can light as a test run. This allowed us to see the final look and brightness, which was incredibly helpful in making our final decision. The quality of the work was impeccable and fully met our expectations, and we found his pricing to be very fair for the scope of the project.
