Priority Electric LLC — Powering what matters

Snoqualmie has lanes. Your project should know its own.

An addition on paper, an EV circuit in the garage, a heat pump replacing the furnace: in Snoqualmie each of these meets a small sorting exercise before it meets a tool. The City accepts permit applications along more than one route, and the electrical permit does not travel with any of them, so the first useful skill here is classification: what is the physical change, which part belongs in the City's building process, and which part is an electrical-permit conversation?

Priority Electric does the sorting with you. Request an Estimate with the change you are planning, or call (206) 718-3047 to sort the project facts before anything is submitted.

Guidance: the City's three submission routes

The City uses MyBuildingPermit for permits that do not require plan review, described as over-the-counter permits; it describes an online fillable form for other types; and it accepts complete paper or PDF applications by email or at City Hall, which is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those hours are access, not process: a City Hall visit does not convert an application into over-the-counter work, and the permit type and review requirements decide the lane, not the door you walked through.

Guidance: the electrical lane runs to Tumwater, not City Hall

Snoqualmie is not on Washington L&I's list of cities that issue electrical permits and perform electrical inspections, so an electrical permit is obtained from L&I unless another jurisdictional fact applies. A City building route never answers the electrical-permit question, and pretending one form governs both is how projects stall. Keep an L&I record with the project file if one exists.

Capacity questions come from real equipment

Snoqualmie's 2026 estimate lists 4,889 housing units, 82% one-unit homes and no mobile-home or special units reported, so most requests here are homeowners weighing loads in a detached house. The statistic supports that framing and nothing else; the service size and available capacity of your home come from the actual equipment and design. A charger, heat pump, or addition are not interchangeable upgrades: list the manufacturer or model where known, the desired location, the future equipment, and any panel information you can read safely, and the new-circuit-versus-panel question gets answered with evidence. Start from EV charger installation or panel upgrades.

Classification protects the next decision

A circuit for a charger becomes part of an addition; a remodel sprouts a new equipment location; projects drift, and that is fine when the file drifts with them. Write down the desired end use, the plan set, and any timing dependency without assuming a submission path guarantees a review outcome. Our own contribution to the file: the task defined in writing with its own number, and a phone confirmation before any newly discovered work changes the agreed plan.

Sorting stops when something is wrong right now

Smoke, sparking, a burning odor, visible heat damage, or a shock: get away when it is safe and call 911. Do not open the panel, keep testing the circuit, or wait for a lane to be identified. Neighbors dark too? That is the utility's call to take. For an undefined but stable problem, troubleshooting and repair is the right lane by definition.

Tell us the change, we will name the lanes

Send the project change, building type, City application status if any, and proposed equipment through Request an Estimate, or call (206) 718-3047. Two lanes, clearly labeled, beat one assumption every time.

FAQs

Common questions

Which City route does Snoqualmie use for no-plan-review permits?

The City says it uses MyBuildingPermit for permits that do not require plan review, also described as over-the-counter permits.

Can other Snoqualmie permit types use a different submission method?

Yes. The City describes online fillable forms for other types and accepts complete paper/PDF applications by email or at City Hall.

Who handles the electrical permit for a Snoqualmie project?

Snoqualmie is not on L&I’s city electrical-jurisdiction list. L&I says that when a jobsite is not within a listed city or Tacoma Power service area, the electrical permit is purchased from L&I.

Does City Hall availability determine whether a permit is over the counter?

No. The City’s hours describe public access. The permit type and review requirements determine the appropriate application lane.

What is the emergency response to a burning electrical smell?

Get away from the equipment if you can do that safely, then dial 911 when fire or shock danger is immediate. Contact the utility for a wider outage.

Denis at Priority Electric LLC delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. We hired him to completely replace all the lighting in our kitchen, including updating the old fixtures and replacing all the recessed can lighting in the ceiling. What truly set Denis apart was his customer-focused approach. Before committing to the full ceiling job, he offered to install a complimentary can light as a test run. This allowed us to see the final look and brightness, which was incredibly helpful in making our final decision. The quality of the work was impeccable and fully met our expectations, and we found his pricing to be very fair for the scope of the project.
