Wake up to a full charge
The car is in the driveway; the charging should be too. We install the Level 2 circuit, run the load calculation, and pull the permit.
Charging on a standard outlet recovers a handful of miles per hour. A Level 2 charger on its own 240V circuit turns overnight into a full battery, which is the whole point of owning the car. Getting there is an electrical project with three real questions: can your service carry it, where does the circuit run, and what does the city want to see.
The load calculation comes first
A charger is one of the largest loads a house can take on, so we start with arithmetic, not assumptions. We add up what your home already draws, compare it against your service size, and tell you what fits. Many homes take a charger on the existing panel; some need a load-management setting or a panel change, and you will know which before anyone quotes anything.
What the installation includes
- A dedicated 240V circuit from the panel to where the car actually parks, with the wire and breaker sized to the charger's real draw.
- Mounting and connection of your charger, or a hardwired unit where the manufacturer requires it.
- The electrical permit and the inspection, included in the number rather than left as your homework.
- A walkthrough of the finished setup, so you know what the breaker feeds and what the charger's settings mean.
Garage, driveway, or somewhere awkward
The easy version is a garage wall a few feet from the panel. Houses are rarely that cooperative. Detached garages, far-side driveways, and finished basements between panel and parking spot all change the routing, and routing is most of the cost. Send photos of your panel and the parking area with your request and the estimate gets sharper immediately.
It has been done here before
One review on our reviews page describes a Tesla charger we installed in a garage, with scheduling that started the same day the customer called. We will not promise that calendar to everyone, but it says something about how this shop treats a person who is ready to stop queueing at public chargers.
How to shop for the installation, not just the charger
Questions any bidder should welcome
- Is this circuit sized against a load calculation of my house, or a guess from the charger's box?
- Should this unit be hardwired or plug-in connected, and what does its manufacturer require?
- What charging rate will I actually see, and would load management raise or lower it?
- Are the permit and the inspection inside this number?
Signals worth noticing
An installer who never asks your service size, or for a photo of your panel, is pricing blind and will true up later at your expense. Be equally wary of a reflexive push toward a service upgrade before any arithmetic has been shown. And on an existing setup, a plug-in charger whose plug or receptacle area feels warm after a session is something to report to an electrician, not something to keep an eye on.
Habits that keep charging uneventful
Hang the connector in its holster instead of leaving it on the driveway, glance at the charger's status lights now and then so a fault code gets noticed the week it appears, and know which breaker feeds the circuit so you can name it on the phone. If sessions start interrupting, note when and in what weather; the charger not charging page walks through what the pattern means. For the buying side, see getting ready for an estimate and judging estimates on more than price.

Common questions
Which chargers do you install?
Any of the common Level 2 units, whether you bought it with the car or picked one yourself. If you have not chosen yet, we will tell you what your service can support before you spend the money, so the charger matches the house rather than fighting it.
Will charging trip the rest of the house?
Not when it is sized correctly, which is what the load calculation is for. A charger on its own dedicated circuit, set to a rate your service can carry, runs all night without the house noticing. If your car does interrupt charging, see EV charger not charging.
Does an EV charger need a permit in Washington?
Yes. A new 240V circuit is permitted electrical work everywhere we operate, and the finished job gets inspected. We handle both as part of the installation; it is not a separate errand for you.
Can I get a charger in a rental or condo?
Sometimes, with the owner or association on board and metering questions answered. Bring the property contact into the conversation early; we are used to explaining the electrical side to boards and landlords in plain terms.

Denis at Priority Electric LLC delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. We hired him to completely replace all the lighting in our kitchen, including updating the old fixtures and replacing all the recessed can lighting in the ceiling. What truly set Denis apart was his customer-focused approach. Before committing to the full ceiling job, he offered to install a complimentary can light as a test run. This allowed us to see the final look and brightness, which was incredibly helpful in making our final decision. The quality of the work was impeccable and fully met our expectations, and we found his pricing to be very fair for the scope of the project.
