Priority Electric LLC — Powering what matters

In Redmond, the first decision is which branch your project takes

Most Redmond electrical projects reach a fork before anyone touches a wire. The City offers over-the-counter residential and commercial electrical permits through Redmond ePermitting Service, called REPS, and routes plan-reviewed permits through the PRO portal, noting that typical mechanical, electrical, or plumbing plan review runs two weeks. Which branch your project takes depends on the actual scope, and finding out early is the difference between a schedule and a surprise.

Priority Electric helps you assemble the details that answer the branch question before anyone assumes. Call (206) 718-3047 or request an estimate with the project as you currently understand it.

Two weeks means review, not the project

The two-week figure describes typical plan review, not design, installation, inspection, or the whole undertaking. Treat it as one segment on the timeline you are building, and let the other segments, equipment lead times, trade coordination, owner decisions, claim their own space beside it. The City also says inspections need to be requested throughout the entire process and before work is covered, with a final inspection required, which is a polite way of saying: surface your construction sequencing, building access, and decision-makers early, because covered work is expensive to uncover.

Most of Redmond shares walls

The 2026 estimate counts 38,216 housing units with 63% in buildings of two or more units, and that majority changes the questions. A detached-house EV charger request, a condo panel concern, a common-area lighting project, and a tenant improvement should not arrive with the same information. For a unit or shared building, say whether the work is inside one unit, in a common area, or tied to building equipment, and include the building contact, access rules, and any association approval process. For a business space, add operating hours, customer-facing areas, and the landlord or facilities contact; that conversation lives at light commercial electrical.

Sort out who answers before anyone quotes

On a shared property, the person requesting work is often not the person who controls access, design, building equipment, or payment. Identify those roles in the first message. The request does not need to resolve internal building politics; it needs to say who can. Clear contacts protect an electrical scope from dying in an approval queue, which happens more often than any wiring problem.

What we do with good inputs

Property type, address, proposed work, available plans, safely visible equipment information, and the approving contacts: with those, the branch question usually answers itself, and the City's live requirements confirm it. We then discuss the work, provide a written scope with its own number, and call before adding anything outside it. Naming an unmade decision, a parking location, a fixture choice, a tenant move date, does not delay the project; it gives the scope a place to hold it.

The exceptions that skip the portal

Smoke, sparking, fire, a burning smell, a shock, or exposed live equipment: move everyone away and call 911. A neighborhood outage belongs with the utility, not an estimate request, and a repair symptom you cannot explain deserves a description of what changed rather than a diagnosis attempted from inside the equipment.

Bring the fork to us

Describe the space, the change, and the people through Request an Estimate, or call (206) 718-3047, and the REPS-or-PRO question gets answered with facts instead of hope. You do not need to know the branch before you write; sorting it is part of the work.

Denis at Priority Electric LLC delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. We hired him to completely replace all the lighting in our kitchen, including updating the old fixtures and replacing all the recessed can lighting in the ceiling. What truly set Denis apart was his customer-focused approach. Before committing to the full ceiling job, he offered to install a complimentary can light as a test run. This allowed us to see the final look and brightness, which was incredibly helpful in making our final decision. The quality of the work was impeccable and fully met our expectations, and we found his pricing to be very fair for the scope of the project.
